Job Description:
FUNCTION
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the incumbent will be
responsible for case management and outreach activities for
participants enrolled in programs. The incumbent will also enroll
program participants, complete required forms, and inform
participants about program opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The functions are not exhaustive and
may be altered by Leadership to the extent it aligns with the
position.)
- Conduct outreach to, orient, and enroll participants in various
programs.
- Manage referrals and provide culturally proficient services and
case management to program participants (attend to diverse needs
including but not limited to language needs, etc.).
- Responsible for assisting participants and staff in completing
forms, preparing distribution materials, copying, and mailing
documents.
- Responsible for providing wraparound services, case management,
tailored career development counseling services, and proficiency
exam preparation to participants.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating a monthly job
board.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of important documents
and data in
- Identify resources available through community programs and
services for program participants.
- Coordinate annual community education and outreach events that
support the successful engagement of refugee and newcomer
families.
- Coordinate meetings with key stakeholders.
- Promote programs through various outlets, including
presentations, etc.
- Responsible for answering telephone calls, responding to
inquiries, and enrolling participants in desired programs.
- Maintain organized and accurate case file notes for services
and documents provided to participants.
- Provide excellent customer service; and
- Other projects as assigned by the Director of Programs
REQUIREMENTS OF QUALIFIED CANDIDATES
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function independently and to work effectively and
in a collegial manner with co-workers, and program
participants
- Complete required Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for
employees
- Possess or be willing to complete HIPAA training
- Must be a motivated self-starter able to work effectively with
limited supervision
- Excellent organizational skills including monitoring of
details
- Adhere to confidentiality mandates and professional
conduct
- Ability to present information to different age groups and
diverse populations effectively
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant
software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Office, as
well as a general understanding of database and reporting
systemsWORKING CONDITIONS, JOB SETTING, and COMPENSATION
- Full-time, non-exempt - 40 hours/week; Compensation range is
$26 - $28 hourly.
- Work will be performed in community settings, remotely, and at
NSDI headquarters in an office setting. It requires electronic
equipment, including a computer, telephone, etc.
- Flexibility in schedule, including scheduled weekends, when
necessary.
- Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal
and telephone communication. Ability to sit for long periods,
standing, computer entry, walking, repeated bending, lifting and
carrying up to 20 lbs, reaching.
