  • Registered Nurse position at Rady Childrens Hospital - San Diego.
  • Travel/Contract employment type.
  • Job requires willingness to get flu shot when requested.
  • Potential floating to various units except OR, PACU and ED.
  • Units include PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, medical behavioral unit, and on rare occasions to Bernardy Center.
  • The job involves seeing post op cardiac surgical care, cardiology patients, complex congenital patients, acquired heart disease patients, heart transplantation, VAD's and ECMO.
  • Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice.
  • Patients can range from neonatal up to 23 years old.
    • Job Requirements
    • CA License in hand or pending with ETAs.
    • 2+ years of CVPICU/CTICU experience leading up to assignment.
    • PEDS Cardiac experience - MUST be cardiac trained.
    • Heart transplant experience preferred.
    • Willing to float between units.
    • BLS and PALS certifications.
    • Experience in ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation.
      • Schedule Information
      • 3x12 variable or straight night shifts, 36x48 available.
      • Weekend Requirements: 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
      • 13 week contracts.
      • Requested Time Off: 6 days total (must still get 3 shifts in week) and must be available to work 2 out of 3 holidays (contract can't end before New Years).
      • Self-scheduling available.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Ratio: 1:1-2 patient care.
        • CVICU unit details provided.
          • Additional Details
          • Valid photo ID is required.
          • Traveler must present front and back copies of ID on their first day.
          • Orientation Information provided prior to start and documentation needed on the first day.
